Aircraft history 7T-VAK c/n 73 made its first flight on April 27th   1961 and was delivered to Air Algérie on May 2nd 1961. The plane was   re-registered 7T-VAK on November 6th 1964.
Accident description The aircraft arriving from Marseille crashed near Bisakra. A fire broke out in the electrical compartment during cruise flight and forced the crew to perform an emergency landing at Hassi Messaud but the plane crashed in flames killing 35 of the 37 occupants. The pilot in command   was the chief-pilot of Air Algérie.
