Aircraft history F-BYAU c/n 192 Caravelle 6N , made its first flight   on April 4th 1965 as IDABP named “Castore”. The plane was delivered   to Alitalia 8 days after its maiden flight. In June 1970 the aircraft was   leased to Societa Aerea Mediterranea and returned to Alitalia in October   1972. It was withdrawn from use from January 1977 to April 1977 when Aerotour   bought the aircraft and registered it F-BYAU.
Accident description The Caravelle was taxiing to the runway at Oujda,   Morocco when the undercarriage collapsed due to improper maintenance of the  aircraft. Nobody was injured but the aircraft was written off.
