Aircraft history I-DABF c/n 179 made its first flight on February 3rd   1965 and was delivered to Alitalia 16 days later named “Mizar”
Accident description The aircraft took off from Rome for a scheduled flight to Marseille. The aircraft landed far behind the runway threshold and the brakes and brake parachute failed. “Mizar” overshot the runway and  ran into water off Etang de Berre. The aircraft landed with an excessive airspeed causing the parachute to burst and the brakes were unable to stop the aircraft with the remaining runway. 14 occupants were injured. Watch video
