Aircraft history VT-DVJ c/n 216 Caravelle 6N, made its first flight   on December 21st 1966 and was delivered to Indian Airlines Corporation as   VT-DVJ, named “Hansadoot” 7 days later.
Accident description Just 6 days after an Air France B747 burnt out at Bombay   – Santa – Cruz Airport, India a Caravelle 6N, VT-DVJ, came down very fast and overshot the runway – the damage to the airframe and undercarriage was severe so that the plane was stripped of all useful parts and broken up for scrap. All 87 occupants survived.
