Aircraft history | XU-JTA made its first flight on April 5th 1963 and was delivered to Air France as “Marche” registered F-BJTN on April 18th 1963 – he plane was later renamed “Comminges”. On January 16th 1969 Royal Air Cambodge bought the plane and registered it XU-JTA named “Angkorwat”. In 1970 the airline changed its name to Air Cambodge. |
Accident description |
On January 21st 1971 XU-JTA was parked at Phnom Penh when the communist “Khmer Roug”‘ destroyed the entire airport with heavy bomb attacks. All aircraft, in particular American aircraft were destroyed. No persons were killed or injured. |
