Fuel Used

The Fuel Used gauge was one of the first to be converted for simulator use. It consists of pulsing 115V electromagnet that counts the Fuel in KG. Every pulse is equal to 1Kg of Fuel used. It makes a very distinctive sound. This instrument was one of the loudest in the Caravelle (which even today was one of the aerodynamically quitest aircraft ever built).

As we did no want to have any 115V gauges we had to replace the magnet – and that turned out pretty difficult as very few magnets actually fit the small size of the instrument.

Now a 12V impulse will makes the count mechanism work. the magnet can now easily be controlled via a USB relay card and a small script which will be published at  a later date.
